Plagiarism Policy
Every manuscript submitted to Journal of Sharia and Local Traditions (JSLT) will undergo a plagiarism check before proceeding to the peer review stage. The editorial team strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism to safeguard academic integrity and the quality of scholarly publications.
Maximum Similarity Threshold:
The editorial board has set a maximum similarity index threshold of 20%, which is verified using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or similar applications.
Plagiarism Policy & Editorial Actions:
| ▪ | Initial Screening: Every manuscript will be screened immediately upon submission. If the similarity index exceeds 20%, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright (desk rejection). |
| ▪ | Types of Plagiarism: The journal considers text copying without citation, paraphrasing without proper attribution, self-plagiarism (text recycling), and data fabrication as serious violations of publication ethics. |
| ▪ | Post-Publication Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected and proven after an article has been published, the editorial board reserves the right to officially retract the article in compliance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. |
