About the Journal

Journal of Sharia and Local Traditions (JSLT) is a scholarly communication medium aiming to explore, develop, and disseminate the results of comprehensive studies on the interaction between Islamic law (sharia) and the dynamics of local customs and traditions developing in society.

The Journal of Sharia and Local Traditions is developed based on the vision of CV Alun Indonesia to become a transformative, objective, and significantly contributing publication hub for the advancement of legal scholarship. The journal serves as a platform for academics, researchers, and legal practitioners to thoroughly examine how the universal values of sharia adapt, dialogue with, and shape social institutions and local traditions in various parts of the world.

To publish high-quality scientific works that objectively portray the dialectic between religious texts and local cultural realities.
